TruGard Vapor-Shield System

A fully bonded, watertight system for showers, tubs, and steam showers. Unlike traditional shower pan liners, the Vapor-Shield membrane is applied directly over the sloped mortar bed, preventing moisture buildup and mold growth.

Easy Installation Guide

1. Clean & Cut

• Clean all surfaces thoroughly.
• Cut the waterproofing membrane to fit, allowing for a 2-inch overlap between sections.

2. Apply Mortar & Press

• Spread modified thin-set mortar using a V-notched trowel.
• Firmly press the membrane into the mortar for secure adhesion.

3. Seal Seams & Corners

• Use TruSeal Sealant or thin-set mortar to bond overlapping sections.
• Apply Trugard Seals Kit to inside and outside corners for extra protection.

4. Pipe & Valve Seals

• Install pipe and valve seals from the Trugard Seals Kit around all penetrations.

5. Complete the Installation

• Once the mortar sets, your shower is fully waterproofed.
• Apply thin-set mortar over the membrane before tiling.
